RE MI is a two-year European cooperation project run by Mire (Nantes, FR), WORM.Filmwerkplaats (Rotterdam, NL) and LaborBerlin (Berlin, DE), focused on the creation, preservation and circulation of technical knowledge of analogue film in order to support its use as a creative medium.
The project involves other film labs, cinemas, art schools and other cultural organizations, as well as a broad international audience of film enthusiasts.
RE MI knows three fields of action:
RE-ENGINEERING THE INDUSTRY
to preserve an industrial heritage for artistic development.
RE-EXPLORING UNEXPLORED PATHS
to update and develop primitive photochemical processes.
EXPANDING FILM COMMUNITIES
to stimulate the network and bringing its artistic productio
RE MI will bring these innovative projects and ideas together, generating new energy, creating interest among a wider audience and highlight the creative vitality of the artist-run lab movement.
This a really exciting moment to be working with film and what we have to accomplish is unlimited!
RE MI is just a beginning…
